Our dates are flexible but must include as we have a wedding to go to. We love animals and we have 2 rescued dogs (one small and one medium) and 7 cats. All have had a difficult start in life but have found sanctuary with us. We need kind, caring house sitters who love animals. We have been let down in the past by people who said they would sit so we are ONLY looking for people who can commit 100% to the sit dates once we agree them but we are fairly flexible. We are looking for someone for about a week but It would be advisable for you to come a day before so you can get to know the routine and you would also be welcome to stay on a day or so after too.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter:
We need someone (or a couple) to sleep over night in our self contained one bed annex so there is someone on the property at night. The animals are in the main house so you'll not have any animals in your apartment. You'll need to feed the animals morning and evening and water the plants in the green house and patio when they need it. Both dogs will need a 40 minute walk in the morning and one dog a second walk late afternoon evening. Both dogs are no problem at all on the lead and have no social problems with people or other dogs so they are not difficult to walk. One only needs one walk because she is elderly now and 2 walks is too much for her she is happy to potter in the garden. The cats are house cats so will need their litter trays kept clean as and when required.
What are the good features of the property and location:
The animals will be in the main house but your accomodation is a one bedroom fully equipped self contained apartment on our drive. There are a couple of pictures of it on our listing and I can send you more. We are in the thriving Welsh market town of Newcastle Emlyn. Just a short 200 metre walk to the high street with 6 pubs (all dog friendly), 2 Indian restaurants, take aways and shops, so close to everything but quiet and peaceful with its own off street parking. The beach is 15 minutes away at most by car.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
The main house is undergoing rennovations and I'm not sure what stage they will be at but your accommodation is in a speparate annex and is newly built so the renovations will not affect your accommodation. If you are happy to stay in and around the town you won't need a car. We are only 200 meters from the high street so close to amenities. Although there is a bus service, to make the most of getting out and about to the mountains or beach a car is advisable.
