We have a lovely seaside cottage on the south shore of Nova Scotia, in eastern Canada ideal for enjoying the coast and all things that make Nova Scotia one of the top ten coastal locations in the world (National Geographic).
We are looking for someone to take care of our 4 year old Golden doodle for 3 weeks in May while we are touring France and Portugal. Our loyal and loving doodle "AJ" is named after our daughters Alexe and Jessie:). AJ loves his beach hometown and can take you on many coastal walks, and on the old train track route that is now a walking/biking trail. AJ is quite happy to sit in the sun on our patio overlooking Hubbards Cove while you read or just relax looking out at the sailboats and the sea. AJ is not a fussy dog in the least. He likes to eat in than am and the pm, and maybe get a cookie mid day if he had a nice long walk. Two walks a day, usually one in the am and one later in the day or early evening. We have a little "AJ poop palace" area off our deck; early in the am or late in the PM he knows to go there. Will ask you to clean up the "poop palace" every few days, if used. Outside of that, just company for our little boy, and to keep the house in order as you will see it on arrival. We love our little house by the sea and want to share it with a dog lover who might be looking for a nice location to relax, or write, or simply breath in some good clean Atlantic ocean air this Spring.
Hubbards is only 30 minutes from Halifax, the main port city where there is much to visit, and renowned for great seafood. AJ is a great traveler if you wanted to bring him with you into the city one day. However, as we are a coastal town, so you would need a rental car if you want to visit around the many scenic areas, like Lunenburg (UNESCO World Heritage Site), and famous Peggy's Cove. But a car is not necessary to enjoy Hubbards where we have bicycles and kayaks to offer you. We will make arrangements to pick you up and bring you back to the airport if you choose not to rent a car for your stay.
We request no smoking in the house, but you are wlecome to do so on either of the outdoor balconies. Would also request that you water container flower baskets twice a week and the small flower garden in front of house once a week.
Please see attached a few photos of the house and of course our pride and joy: AJ
Till then, Heather, Martin and AJ
