We live 20 minutes from Toowoomba, a pleasant city in Queensland. We are a quiet couple with four lovely dogs. Two cavalier spaniels, one Jack Russell and an elderly small terrier. Our dogs are well trained and easy to look after. Love and food are their main objectives!!
As we are almost retired and want to do some traveling It is important to us that our dogs are looked after; it is no good worrying when you are away. We are looking for a reliable house sitter who will look after our dogs and home for the periods we are away.
Home and Location
We live on 2 acres in a small village 20 minutes south west of Toowoomba. The house is three bedroomed so there is a separate bedroom for a house sitter. We have all the necessities including Internet.
Our home is in a quiet area with no noise from neighbours and little passing traffic.
A house sitter will require their own transport as there is no public transport to town, which is about 20 kms. Toowoomba is a city and has very good shopping and other facilities.
Responsibilities
Feed the dogs in the morning and evening and ensure they have fresh water. The dogs sleep inside each night. Enough food will be supplied for the length of the house sit.
The dogs do love to be groomed and played with. As we have two acres playing at home with them is enough we will not expect them to go for walks.
One of the dogs is quite scared in storms and thunder. If you anticipate being out when a storm is due we have a large cage to lock the dog in as they she will try to run away (make a hole or bite the fence) to a local person for security.
We do appreciate non-smokers, as we do not smoke. The house is easy to look after and we appreciate a house sitter looking after our home as they would their own.
We may ask for our pot plants to be watered, but will advise on that.
