We need a house sitter to take care of our home and our wonderful yellow lab, Taffy and our dear Dutch Shepherd, JoJo. We live in Missoula, MT at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. Missoula is a university town made famous by the movie A River Runs Through It. It has wonderful coffee shops, breweries, bakeries, and restaurants and it is the rare week that there isn't a concert, guest speaker, sports event, or play going on. This is a mountain town and we live two miles from an open space area and seven miles from a wilderness area. People who love to hike and bike and be outdoors love Missoula. Ski areas are also nearby.
Our house is a lovely home with a daylight basement and a huge back yard with way too many trees. The deck facing West is nearly the width of the house. We love to redecorate and remodel and it shows. Upstairs there are wood floors and area rugs and beautiful windows to let in the light. The kitchen has granite countertops and new appliances and there is a separate dining room. We have an office upstairs and there is a bedroom and bathroom on this level. Downstairs are two more bedrooms, a bathroom, a family room and a smaller room. It's very light and carpeted. Staying in our house is like living in a library since there are book cases everywhere, as you can see in the photos. All the furniture is new and perfect for napping or sitting. There are smart TVs on both levels and we have Hulu and the internet. Everyone who comes into our home feels comfortable immediately and you will, too. I am a borderline fanatical housekeeper (eldest daughter in a big Irish family; it was inevitable) but if you would like to keep my cleaning lady, we can arrange that. She comes in every two weeks and does the entire house for $100. Laina is a fun person and you can trust her to the moon and back.
Taffy is called by my grandchildren "The dog of the world". And she is certainly that. She will be eight in January and is true to her breed- very friendly and affectionate. She will welcome you every day. JoJo is smart as a whip and very loyal; she is four. She will make sure no robbers come in the house and will come and sit by you for occasional pats and reassurances of love. We take both dogs over to the field to chase the ball in the mornings (it's down the street) and again later in the day. Taffy lollygags a bit but JoJo chases the ball with rare athleticism.
The only upkeep that I would anticipate would be shoveling snow! Don't worry, I have two shovels!
