We are looking for a house/pet sitter for two weeks in Dec/Jan while we head south for Christmas Break. We have 4 dogs, 4 cats and 1 fish. We live on 20 acres above the Kootenay River in a quiet remote area. We would like our home maintained and our animals fed twice daily. The dogs are guardians of both the property and a small flock of sheep (they (sheep) will be away from the property being bred). The dogs love to go for walks, however they stay home and guard the porch if you go enjoy our recreational activities within the East Kootenays. Our dogs stay outside in both the day and the evening, they have a dog manison that is heated with couches and beds for their comfort and safety.We are 30 mins from two beautiful ski hills (Fernie Alpine Resort and Kimberely Ski Resort), snowshoeing and cross-country skiing can be done form my backyard too. A beautiful view of the Steeples mountains will encourage you to be outside spending time in the snow and playing with the dogs...they love the snow!!! It would be required to have a 4*4 as the house is 6km up a dirt road. Our home is heated by woodstoves and is a large open concept, with handcut beams and handcrafted woodwork. The kitchen is newly renovated and some parts of our home are still in the process of renovations. In saying that it is fully functionable with two bathrooms, laundry room, a loft, living space, open dining room and kitchen area with 4 bedrooms.
