My Sacramento home is furninshed with artwork by loved ones and myself, and with things I have collected on my travels. It is a two bedroom, two bathroom house with great wifi. Although it is on a quiet street and you will be calm and peaceful here, it is close to thriving midtown Sacramento with a lively arts and restaurant/coffeehouse scene. My house is close to public transportation and the freeway. It is within walking distance (.6 mi/1km) to a grocery store, and to the huge Land Park which has a zoo, a golfcourse and a Fairytale town for kids. Sacramento is a great town for riding bikes and I am right by the river which has bike trails connecting to downttown and the American River Parkway. Sacramento is big enough to have the feel of a city but not too big to be overwhelming if you stay in the city core.
It is also a great base for day trips exploring San Francisco, and skiing or hiking in the mountains and Lake Tahoe, all within 2 hours drive. For a weekend trip, Yosemite is 4 hours away.
My cat Zorrie is 14 years old but thinks she is 4. She alternates between being loving and aloof, but I am sure you will soon love her quirky personality. She needs to be fed twice a day, her littler box cleaned but that's it for responsibilities besides watering a few plants and taking out the garbage. The front and back yards don't need maintenance in the winter.
I am looking for someone who doesn't smoke or party, and who lives on the earth lightly, and will tend to my home and my cat with care. It this works out and you are interested, I will be doing more long term trips next year, and need a housesitter for Feb and March as well.
