Lovely 63 acre farm in the heart of the Cariboo region. Wildwood Farm is a well-maintained small hobbyfarm where I train carriage horses. My farm is set up as a very low-maintenance, easy-animal care operation. 3 horses and one cat require company and care. All animals are friendly and easy to deal with/manage. Most often the horses are on pasture and require very minimal care - mostly just an "eyes on" check and a water trough top-up.
The farm home is being rebuilt after a total loss fire in November 2018 and will be completed in November 2019, thus a house sitter will be enjoying a brand new, modern, very comfortable and luxurious new home. The house features a natural gas fireplace and heating system, heated floors in several areas, open concept plan, granite countertops, Thermador gas cooktop and many other features. A back-up in-line generator system ensures power for the rare times there is an outage. An electric front gate ensures privacy and security. Located only 15 minutes from 100 Mile House where all needed conveniences, dining establishments and businesses are located. The farm is on a paved, well maintained road, with friendly, helpful neighbours a stone's throw away.
Since the term of the stay is partially during the winter, you will be able to enjoy the beautiful cross country trails found 15 minutes away in both 100 Mile House and at the nearby Spring Hills Guest Ranch. You can also ski and snowshoe around the property, catching sight of wildlife and lovely views from the treed fields. Sun Peaks, a major downhill ski area is only a 2.5 hour drive away and accessible for a day trip.
Ideally, you will need to be able to run the easy-to-use tractor to clear the driveway in the case of a snowfall, though neighbours are also available to do this for a small fee if need be. Heated water troughs and frost-free water hydrants make the outside chores easy even in cold weather. The horses are well mannered and the feeding is a breeze, taking perhaps 10 minutes morning and evening.
