We are located in the heart of the Chequamegon National Forest in Northwest Wisconsin on a lake of 157 acres. The nearest town of 5,000 is 34 miles away. A smaller town is 17 miles away. A winter wonderland set in a serene landscape. In the winter there are many great cross country ski, snowshoe, (we can supply the showshoes) and fat bike trails everywhere. Snowmobiling is another popular pastime. The area is known for its winter tourism. The American Birkebeiner, a xc ski race of 10,000 people is held 17 miles from our door. The trail one of the best in the world. Downhill skiing an hour away.
Our small village of Clam Lake has 3 bar/restaurants, very well stocked convenience store and service station, and post office. Natural History Museum, churches, groceries, library - 17 miles.
Lovely home on the lake. Two bedrooms, three bathrooms, loft office. DSL, WIFI, Cable tv.
We feed deer and birds in the winter. Elk can wander through our yard at times.
Cat lovers are a must. Our kitties are not spoiled but love to have attention and be close to humans (of course on their time). Our oldest kitty, Jill, is on a medication once a day but is easy to administer. Our English Springer Spaniel loves people and all animals. Will need to be walked twice daily. Some house plants that need watering.
Our home is not suitable for young children.
